From Mass Effect wiki
Vido Santiago is a human mercenary and a co-founder, with Zaeed Massani, of the Blue Suns.
Zaeed controlled the mercenaries while Vido managed the finances. Arguments ensued when Vido wanted to hire batarian mercenaries,
citing the cheap labor opportunities; Zaeed strongly disagreed with this policy.
Eventually, Vido betrayed Zaeed by turning their men against him.
Vido usurped Zaeed by paying six of his men to hold him down while he shot Zaeed in the head.
Vido took control of the Blue Suns, managing their activities from the shadows.
At some point thereafter, Vido ceded de facto leadership of the Blue Suns to Solem Dal'serah, a batarian.
This ingenious strategy both strengthened public relations and ensured his own safety.
Since, he has gone by the title of "Co-Executive Officer"
n 2185, Vido is contacted by a Dr. Farrin from ExoGeni Corporation to provide safe transport for a Prothean artifact on Joab. Believing the
artifact itself to be far more valuable than Farrin's transportation fee, Vido betrays Farrin, directing Captain Narom from the Blue Suns Base
on Sanctum to torture Farrin's intermediary until he gave up the location of the dig site. Vido then sends a team to steal the artifact
and transport it to the recently hijacked MSV Strontium Mule, but this plan is foiled by Commander Shepard.
Vido also seizes control of a refinery on Zorya, using its workers as slave labor. Shepard and Zaeed are able to
track him there. However, the ensuing battle resulted in a fire which endangers the Eldfell-Ashland refinery's civilian workers.
Shepard has to make a difficult choice: let the workers die in order to take Vido down for good, or save the workers, potentially giving
Vido the chance to escape.
In my headcanon.....
in 2165, a human male named Aldon Stanford planned to become the ambassador of Mindoir by having Zaeed Massani's
half-brother Aaron Edwards mudered, because he felt the Edwards was making the homeplanet too wholesome.
When he learned that Zaeed had a dissagreement with Vido about hiring batarians. He contacted Santiago and
promised him if he were to kill Edwards he would make sure to see Zaeed dead and he would have the leadership of
the Blue Suns for himself.
Vido agreed..
But when Zaeed found out, he warned Aaron about Vido's plot to kill him, he and his family went off-world for a few days.
When Stanford discovered what Zaeed had done, he told Vido if he really wants to be the Blue Suns leader he
would have to kill Zaeed for his interference.
So one day, Vido and the six Blue Suns mercs ambushed Zaeed in the wooded area of Mindoir.
Zaeed was being beaten while Vido himself stood there and watched.
Then while his former partner laying and the ground, beaten and bruised, Vido walked up to him and shot him in the head.
He and the mercs then stripped him of his armor, and left him to die.
Little did he or the mercs knew, a five-year-old girl who would grow up to became an Alliance Lt. commander,
Seidra Ilona Shepard had witnessed the whole scene.
Afterwards, Zaeed was in a coma under the name 'John Doe'.
When it was discovered so, Vido framed his former partner by killing Edwards and his wife in their home, while
their two young sons hid somewhere in their bedrooms.
Zaeed then found out and fled Mindoir, vowing to get revenge on Santiago and Stanford.
During the first year of Stanford's career as ambassador, Vido helped him with trying to bring the work of slavery
to Mindoir, and having orphaned children sold off into slavery and prostitution.
When Stanford was caught, and exiled from Mindoir, Vido helped him plot for revenge against those who had him
banished by covincing the batarians slavers to attack the homeplanet.
Five years later when Vido learned that Seidra attacked Stanford in his home and tried to kill him. he helped him
fack his death and dissapear before he would be caught and arrested.
Then ten years later and a few months after attack on the Collector base, Zaeed was arrested for Edward's murder
and taken to Earth. Seidra offered to become his lawer defend him.
Zaeed explained to her the real reason why his tried to have Vido killed back on Zorya was because he was responsable
for the deaths of Edwards who was his half-brother and his sister-in-law. and that because he was helping
Stanford sell off children and also helped him sell out Mindoir.
So She went to Omega and with the help from Aria T'loak lured Santiago into a trap.
Seidra herself confronted Santiago and attempted to place him under arrest, but The merc leader had his men
slow her down while he tried to make and escape.
What he didn't know, Edi thwarted his chance to make a his escape by reprograming the cargo bay door to stay closed.
After killing the last few mercs, Seidra closed in on Vido, who threatend to shoot her if she came any closer.

The leader of the Blue Suns and taken to the Normandy and interrogated about the murder of Aaron Edwards.
