From Wiki...

Donovan Hock is a weapons dealer, smuggler and patron of the arts.

Hock is the antagonist of Kasumi Goto's loyalty mission, Stealing Memory.

Speaking with a strong Afrikaans accent, he resides in a mansion on Bekenstein, surrounded by fields and a lake, with a city in the distance.
Hock is a patron of artist June Fasha. His mansion contains a vault with priceless artifacts and works of art including Michelangelo's David
and the head of the Statue of Liberty. How he obtained these items is unknown.

Hock killed Kasumi's former partner, Keiji Okuda, and stole his graybox, which contained a secret that, if exposed, would implicate the Alliance.
However, Okuda had encrypted the graybox.

Commander Shepard, under an assumed alias, and Kasumi, infiltrate Hock's vault, but when they recover the graybox, Hock who had suspected
Kasumi's involvement shows up as a holographic projection and confronts Shepard and Kasumi. After his mechs and Eclipse mercs fail to stop them,

Hock takes matters into his own hands by flying an A-61 Mantis Gunship, equipped with its own personal shield. Kasumi, however, gets in close and disables the shield, allowing herself and the Commander to shoot Hock down. Hock is killed in the resulting explosion.

In my headcanon.....

Somewhere in March, 2182, Hock heard from the news vids that an Alliance officer, Abraham Rumoi was caught and arrested for espionage,
stealing classified information and selling it, and then released on bail.

So he contacted the feelers and paid them for the info about Rumoi stealing the classified information from the Alliace data banks.
And that's when he learned that Rumoi was none other then a professional hacker and thief named Keiji Okuda.

Hock also learned that Okuda had a greybox and that he had a partner/lover, also a hacker and thief by the name of Kasumi Goto.

So before the trial, Hock anonymously sent Okuda the E-brochure about Bekenstein, knowing the two thives woulden't pass it up.

One month later, When Keiji was was acquitted due to technicalities, Hock had the Eclipse merc group prepared for unwelcomed
intruders that would break into his 2nd estate on Bekenstein.

After both Kasumi and Keiji hacked open the door.  they were alerted when they heard the guards searching the three floors for
any unwanted guest.

Kasumi, while unaware that both Donovan Hock and the Eclipse merc were lying in wait in the dark, told Keiji to head to the third
floor while she fended off againts the mercs on the second floor.

Moments after Keiji, who too was unaware that Hock and the merc were ready to attack him, made his way to
the room on the third floor, He was praising Kasumi for her accomplishments when he was first attacked by the merc.

After Okuda defeated the merc, Hock stepped out of the shadows and stabbed th thief in the right lower back, causing him to scream in pain.

Then Hock stabbed Okuda again, This time in the through the back of the thief's head and deep into the brain. and afterwards thrusted
the greybox out of the skull.

As the wounded thief layed in the pool of his own blood, Hock came into view and gloated of being eager to finding out what
the fuss over a whole 'espionage' was about.

As Hock walked out the door, he said he never stolen someone's memories until that very day.

He bade goodbye to Okuda and told him to consider it to be his first as he left Keiji to bleed and die on the floor.

Afterwards, when Hock made luckless attempts to crack the greybox open, he learned that Kasumi has the greybox of her own
which resulted him hunting her down.

Little did he know, that Kasumi herself was pregnant with her and Keiji's baby,  which was the reason why she
went off the grid.

And luckly for Kasumi, Hock never found out that she gave birth to her daughter Shinju and placed her in care of Keiji's family while
plotted to steal back the greybox.

And would one day recruite the help of an alliance marine and first human spector Commander Seidra Ilona Shepard.
