Los Santos Defence attorney, Rosemary Elizabeth Connor was known as Mary-Beth Williams (her birth name)

When her mother Louise Cassidy-Williams was Kidnapped killed by Armando Mendez, She was raised by her aunt Mary-Jo Cassidy.

Before her death, Louise told her sister and their brother Phil, should anything ever happened to her, that they care for the her
baby daughter and protect her.

Also to never allow the child to marry a redneck, as she wants Mary-Beth to find a decent man, and live a decent life, in decent, real home.And, as far as the three of them know, Louise never met Marty Jay Williams, and the fact they don't know who the baby's father was or what happened to him..

Thus, little Mary-Beth was given her mother's maiden name.

One week after Louise's death, Both Mary-Jo and Phil found out that their good-for-nothing, brother-in-law Marty who was thought to
have died was at the Vice City hospital, laying in a coma.

Fearing for the safety of their baby niece, and Marty would wake up and get custody of her, The brother and sister went to the hospital and tried to convinced the doctors to pull the plug on Marty's life support, but their request was turned down as the request itself must come from the spouse or perhaps the father's side of the family.

So they went to their late sister's lover, Victor Vance for help.

Victor knowing the there is a fate that worse then dying: For one to Wake up to find everything one has had is now gone.
So he suggested they fake Mary-Beth's death, By making it look like that she and her mother were both murdered by the Mendez Cartel.

Mary-Beth lived with her aunt over the years. After she graduated from Vice City High School and left for the Liberty City University and studied Law and Justice. She also took lessons in self-defence.

During her first year, she met and fell in love with a young man named Samuel Lucas Andreasen, a Danish-American who was also a student in the University.

When Mary-Beth went home for the holiday, She brought Samuel with her to Vice City to meet her aunt Mary-Jo and Uncle Phil, who both approved their relationship.

Three years later and two and the half weeks before graduation, The couple went to Marco's Bistro restaurant that was within a walking distance of the dormitory building and had dinner. Samuel proposed to twenty one-year-old Mary-Beth and she accepted.

He then slipped a diamand ring on her finger.

That night, Mary-Beth called Mary-Jo and told her about her engagement to Andreasen and the overjoyed aunt told the news to Phil.

Two weeks later, during their walk back to the movies, The couple witnessed a mob hit in the ally.

They saw a three mafiaa, beat a member of a rival mobs to death with baseball bats. then one of them saw the couple running away from the scene.

But the mobsters caught up with them and shot at the couple. Mary-Beth was hit twice in the shoulderblade and once in the back of her leg. She fell to the ground unconscious.

And Samuel was wounded in the lower back whice rendered him paralyzed from a the waist down.

The mobsters left, leaving one of them to finish off the couple.

When the mobster snatched the ring from Mary-Beth and attempted to slit the young woman's throat. Samuel crawled up close and bit the man's leg.

The man however stabbed Andreasen in the chest as retaliation.

Despite this, The young man grabbed the knife from Mary-Beth's would-be killer, slashed his leg, and stabbed him in the neck, killing him.

Afterwards, the dying Samuel moved close to his beloved fiancée.

Knowing that she was still alive and breathing, He said goodbye to her, holding her hand as he died.

When Mary-Beth woke up in the hospital, she was sadly informed that fiance was dead.

This broke her heart, Knowing that she will never see him again. Both Mary-Jo and Phil comforted their niece.

As Mary-Beth was about to go under witness protection, She requested to graduate from the University.

The FIB reluctantly agreed to grant her request. But under the condition that she would do so under the name of Rosemary Elizabeth Conner.

This was the second time that her death had to be faked. This time however, her identity was hidden.

As Mary-Beth graduated under the assumed name, She was secretly guarded by FIB agents.

She said goodbye to Mary-Jo and Phil, then moved to the city of Los Santos in San Andreas.

A few weeks later, while living in apartment, Mary-Beth found out she was pregnant with Samuel's child. But she managed to hide it from the FIB, knowing the mob woulden't be looking for a woman raising her baby.

She had given birth to her son and named him Sam Manuel Conner.

Four years later, Rosemary left her job as a waitress in the diner to make ends meet, and to raise her son until her was old enough to start kindergarten. and applied for a job as a lawyer.

Both mother and son still live in Los Santos to this day.
